Quick thoughts on Tiger Woods

2 December 2009 View Comments

So, this whole Tiger Woods and his affair thing has reached volcanic hot topic proportions right now…and I am here to say this…WHO CARES?

If he was still denying at this point, that he was having an affair with Jaimee Grubbs, then I would take issue with this.woods

The fact of the matter remains, he has been open that SOMETHING is going on. Could we please just let this man deal with it in the privacy of his own home?

Now, by no means to I condone or approve of infidelity or adultery, but I do applaud Woods for coming out, apologizing for his “transgressions” and, I will after this post, respect his privacy and wishes in wanting to deal with this as a family problem–without media interference.

Let he and his wife deal with this, and work through it. Marriage and relationships are hard enough without media hype and people targeting you every second.

The man admitted he was not perfect. That is enough for me. Have I lost some respect for him? Absolutely, but by admitting fault, and owning up to it, I did gain some of it back.

As a side note…what is more depressing to me than Woods cheating on his wife numerous times, is the fact that as a society, we have no clue what the word “transgression” means.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself…pretty sad that one of the hottest search topics on Google Trends right now is the definition of the word “transgressions”

Chalk that up as a FAIL for the public education system. :-(

Totally agree. And while yes, I did lose some respect and don't believe there is EVER an excuse to cheat, I gained some for the truth. It is hard to man up to billions and say you were wrong, most of us can't even do that to a single person. And yes, what he did was wrong, and he's obviously paying for it at home. But, it also goes to show that we don't know what is goin on.

Ironc… The very media that help make him a billion is the same that is taking him down…What is even more interesting is all the people saying " I would never cheat or excuse it " but probably have done it at some point in there life but are not under the scope. Everyone reading this knows at least one guy that has cheated in a relationship. The facts are he cheated, many guys and girls do, he is paying for it, some people will like him less, most people will forget after next major win. Ask Kobe, winning cures all wrongs regardless if its right or not. True story

Rolee said exactly what I was thinking – the same media that Woods depended on to make him famous is the same media that is keeping his infidelities public news rather than private. It's kind of the price you pay by being in the media, however. If you're in the public eye and choose to be there, your personal life will be on focus.
