This is a piece I wrote during my time with the Citrus County Chronicle. It is about a brother and sister–Matt & Mettina Maggiore–who both excelled in the classroom and in multiple sports. During the early 2000′s, no women’s soccer team in central Florida could keep up with the Citrus High School Lady ‘Canes. They had a dominate program, and had several players move on to play at the collegiate level. This game was a great example of their skills.
