The Patriot Press

From 2003-2004, I was a member of “The Patriot Press” a student run publication produced by the journalism students at Central Florida Community College. In 2003, I served as Sports Editor for the “The Patriot Press” and in 2004, I served as the Editor-in-Chief for “The Patriot Press.”

While serving as Editor-in-Chief, I wrote two articles that were recognized by the Florida Community College Press Association (FCCPA) as top stories in 2004.

• The Man is Retiring
  

This is a story profiling the career of legendary basketball coach Gene Smithson. The FCCPA recognized this story by awarding it 2nd Place for Best Sports Feature Story in 2004.

• Hart Monitor

This is a piece introducing a series I wrote about Clinton Hart, who was then a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Hart was a great interview, and to this day, the series I ran about him is one of the most interesting things I feel I have written.
